McCowan is being recognized for her significantcontributions to the economic development of her local community and theadvancement of education at the local, state and national levels.The event is also dually purposed as the primary fundraiser for thecommunity programs and scholarships offered by the Omicron Mu OmegaFoundation. Specific programs include AKAnomics, a local financialmanagement training program that targets adults and youth from lowto-moderate income households aimed to empower and inspire them tobecome `fiscally fit'.
